After St. Anger, it was quite obvious that it would be incredibly tough for Metullica to release a record which could top the album which many perceive to be the band's greatest achievement.

You honestly should not review anything that is a slight bit of prog. I honestly think you are completely wrong about the riffs being uninspiring but I understand the almost inaudible bass. I have this about a 4 because of that and it does drag on a little but a 2 on this is like calling Load better than this album. I would rather gouge my eyes out than give Load a higher rating than this album.
