These guys have always been pretentious. Sounds like the ego may have surpassed the quality of the output on the new one.

Elephant is a great atmospheric alt. rock record and that's all I needed it to be.

Hear that sound? That's the sound of millions of sleeves being rolled up by nerds ready to hate the album out of the gate because it took too long to come out in their opinion. Plus it's a bit different than what they're used to! Can't wait to see the collective average on this one.

Bands can write songs about topics and still be oblivious to how their actions contradict whatever message they're trying to convey.

What does that mean? What are you referring to?

Yeah, Weak And Powerless just screams ego.

I understand this band has always been inferior to Tool.

Tool might be in the top 250 bands for me. I don't think A Perfect Circle would crack top 1000.

I may be a nerd that wears sleeves but I dislike the album because I think it's boring, sounds uninspired, has some of the most lacking drums I've heard in quite some time, and the lyrics are pretty awful. It's ok that it sounds different than their other stuff, but it's too bad they lost their qualities that they used to shine in. But just my opinion I'm glad others are digging it

It leaked a few hours ago, calm down. How do you not realize by now that APC albums are a slow burn? You waited 15 years, give it a day why don't you? Fuck...

16 year old me made that comment, but Tool are still one of my favorite bands. Hopefully their new album lives up to 10,000 Days and flows as well as Elephant.

Ok so the same can be said for the people that are saying the album is great lol. By and down has been out for years, still don't like it, I saw new stuff live, still don't like it, etc. It's just my opinion my man. And for what it's worth this album was one of the very few instant 5s I've ever heard :-)

I actually haven't heard anyone say it's great yet (probably not a good first sign lol). I like the singles and the Maynard/Howerdel combo has always been sweet. So this being a huge disappointment just seems so farfetched and reactionary to me. Only thing I'm salty about is there's probably no heavy track like Pet.

I'm glad you like it, but my opinion is just as valid as yours so lets not jump on eachother for having different reactions haha

I'm expecting a super average, glossy radio-rock album that all the step-dads will love
