Am I the only one whose got the stones to say this album is horribly mid. I've tried listening to it so many times and each time I struggle to hear anything remotely worthy of being labeled "classic" or even really well done. Like congrats, you wrote a bad Deftones or The Used song and you made it sound edgy with overblown production.

While a valid suggestion, I don't think that's it as there are plenty of post hardcore albums that I've loved over the years. I just don't think this album does anything particularly well. If you're going to write an album that doesn't sound wholly original, you gotta at least write shit that's catchy or interesting. The only times when I thought this album were interesting were on "Male Bomb" and "Classic. Death. Pose". And even after just listening to those songs, I couldn't tell you a single thing about them.

Idk I find a lot of dynamics and variety in the songwriting on this joint. Shades of MCR, Underoath and Glassjaw and others thrown together with a modern twist. The band simultaneously getting harder and more melodic without compromising their original sound and still trying some new things. I just find it reductive to compare this to The Used who have barely made a splash on the genre since their debut. Like with all core and core adjacent genres tho, we have our preferences in what we like
