I remember watching "Best Breakdowns of 20__" on YT when I first started getting into heavier stuff. I thought (and still do at 34) that breakdowns were the coolest shit. Just a band, knowing their shit's heavy, looking to make a small part of it even heavier. Yeah, there's tons of bands that do it and they're stale as shit, but some truly shine.
I still think the best breakdown I've ever heard are the two in BTBAM's B. Anablephobia.
Stiletto by Symphony in Peril is also a classic example.
