as games, the mon-design has been consistently great. although idk why they stopped with megas. we love palafin

Armarouge and Ceruledge are sweet designs although they are basically digimon or megaman designs
Gargancle, Grafaiai, Toadscruel, Annihilape, Kinggambit and all the prehistoric paradox mons are my favorite designs including walking wake (fuck the future designs). Was overall disappointed by all the legendaries and starters designs, but they aren't too bad.

i feel like i genuinely don't dislike quaxly's final evo (easily my least fave still) but dude was supposed to be a cool ass pirate!!!! i would've bet so much on that but alas
i don't dislike the future designs, but the past ones def feel more creative amongst each other.

I love how my awful attempt at a Pokémon island joke spawned a full discussion. Love it

This is really good, amazing dynamics especially. Lots of variety and a lot going on. They usually play soft but can pull off the heavy sound more convincingly than many a full-on metal band. Also did anyone get j-rock vibes from this sound? Guess japanese bands always had post-hc inspired riffing patterns

most listened to band this year !
feel like sentiment wise, this is becoming my 2nd favorite (topping Wake and Secret Wars definitively). Tunnel Vision Alibi is one of those rare, "i dont think this track is ever going to get" old tracks.
saw them play it the other night as their encore!!! i was so fucking exhausted by that point (gave my all to 60 min session blocks!) but so happy they played it

Yes, and it was wonderful. Was admittedly nervous because part of me doubted Donovan could really kill those notes live, but godDAMN he can hit those notes and then some. Highlights were probably "60-Minute Sessions Blocks," "Slander" (one of my personal fav HtS songs), "Domino," "Repellant" (went UNREASONABLY hard), and a group sing-a-long to "Relax/Divide."
Kaonashi was absolutely horrible though I'm sorry lmao, unlistenable vocals.

Yeah they’re definitely divisive.
Did Donovan play drums at all?
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.7
He did! He played drums for I think 3 songs. Their now-usual drummer took the opportunity to absolutely launch himself into the crowd lmao, was a great moment

Yeah I love when he does some of the drums. They’re so great
