I'm sorry, not even bothered about this album but just came to say Biffy's latest album rules. They are still making bangers.

I can't remember even listening to the S/T for idk three years at least (maybe five, my concept of time is pretty shagged these days)

...so what Johnny's saying sounds like the potential truth, but do I care enough to find out? Perhaps. Stay tuned for more at 11.

just jam Mexicola (tbf a legitimate slapper), pretend you've heard the rest, and come back to tell me I'm wrong

Mexicola was a sweet ass jam back in the day, I am now intrigued simply to see if it holds up

the S/T being 'too much of the one thing' is a valid criticism - revisiting all their albums this year have to say I enjoyed it overall a lot more than 'Lullabies' (highlights are real good), 'Era V' (highlights are real good) or {gulp} 'Like Clockwork' (it's solid but lumpen and these last two albums always remind me of the same approach, like lesser knock offs, which doesn't help).

It authentically rocks a bit more :/

Nah there's way too many good songs on the s/t to dismiss imo, You Can't Quit Me Baby being the jam of all jams

Paper Machete is classic QOTSA, and lyrically it’s a great FU song.

Albums good but it feels weirdly muted.

Paper Machete is one of the two tracks keeping this on the 3 line for me (along with Sicily) and Lullabies could have been their best album if it axed Little Sister and had a stronger second half

Sicily is my fave… if I’m actually required to pick one (would rather not bother).

Sicily...is also my fave.

Is this an unholy hat trick of agreement?

Further props to Paper Machete for shamelessly aping the one worthwhile bar from Little Sister in its guitar solo. Absolutely no reason to listen to that song ever again now

@MyMentality: is Biffy back to the style of their first couple? I dipped after Only Revolutions when I was doing my discog run.
