Get that too yeah, prefer DEI's sound over everything after it. That album sounds perfect to me. They sadly have gone for a more overblown/saturated sound later on, with less room available for each instrument. Still love those records so much, but that is a minor gripe for me for sure.

I've always considered this to be one of those albums that would be appreciated more had it been made by a different artist. Like if this was some one off by some random band it'd be in every "thrash hidden gem" lists and prob have like a 3.8 avg (on like 1/3 of the votes) but because it's the far removed black sheep debut of the meshuggah discog it's kinda unfairly maligned for being more amateur than it really is
also ironic saying that considering my rating but thrash isn't entirely my thing these days

This is criminally underrated. This is a lot of fun unlike an album like Koloss that bores me to tears. I wish Meshuggah still had traces of their thrash roots.
