I've concluded that Infrared Horizon is still their best album, but man did they fucking kill it with this one.
Infrared was more sci-fi horror inspired and just overall a darker, more sinister experience. Nothing comes close to Will's blood curdling shriek on Anchored to the Inlayed Arc.

I really love the music but the production on this album is my least favorite of the theirs. Everything sounds muted / smothered.

The more I listen to this one the more I feel Krallice vibes on it. Specially in the way the bass lays here.

For me, the smothered/muted effect is so well done and nicely integrated in here. I do like it.
AB musicians are so talented, their music is very addictive, full of melodic hooks. All discog rule. I am new fan of them & AB is already in my top tier group. Might 5 this and other LP soon.m///

They've always taken a fair bit of influence from Marston-affiliated bands like Krallice and Dysrhythmia. Not too surprising given he's handled all their full-length production

"Smothered/muted" sounds like a hashbrown style from Waffle House
