ugh stop ruining threads

Just noticed the tag: "Alt/Indie Review of the Year 2006". Is there one for every year? And how come the number of reviews for staff users is no longer displayed?

Also, this isn't boring at all. Vampire Weekend is horrendous by the way.

its not just the talking parts (which just make the album sound pretentious btw) its the whole album, the buildups feel so forced, like whining strings and noises playing softly for a long time and then going loud and its supposed to be epic but it doesn't sound like anything special, to me, the more you ask me about why i don't like this album the more i'm gonna rant and you prolly don't like me ranting lol i don't even mean to annoy you with my different opinion i just don't like this music and don't get why people do. maybe because it sounds "epic" or at least tries to sound epic...w.e.

okay. basically. what i mean is. its monotonous, its formulaic. its soft and then goes loud and then soft and there was nothing in between that actually grabbed your attention. its like a formula, "let's make this part all quiet and then let it build up" but there's no beauty within any of the actual notes. also there's no variation instrument wise, i feel like they use the same instruments for the whole album, it feels like the same notes even. they should switch things up a bit. also they should add like some degree of humility to their work, i feel it in the notes their thinking what they make is epic. and like...idk, they should add some occasional fast parts or maybe even some singing? it can still be unique that way. and like...idk. it tries to be a classical album but classical music actually keeps my attention, this doesn't it just moans on and on.

i know maybe i missed alot of details in the music when i was listening to it. but i know, when i was listening, i know for a fact i was paying full attention to it and wanting to like it...and being really annoyed by its blandness and pretentiousness.

animalcollective: stop writing out your opinions like dey monumental. i mean you can strip out all the substanceless parts and just say that you don't like albums that are a) classical(as if classical music keeps your attention, you don't have to pretend so) b) that have an overarching concept and sound that drive it.

what
