Digging up old news since I haven't been around, but damn, ABQ really bungled it up with these guys lmao

Yeah, that whole situation was bullshit. Twitter morons just had to derail the hype for this a day before release. Bunch of cowards trying to get the band cancelled for breaking a mic stand smh.

There was actually a lot more to it than what happened on Twitter. Looks worse for the locals when you have all the info, although I'm still not impressed with the bands' (moreso Momentum) attitude after the fact. I was at that show btw.

Funnily enough, the guy that was with Momentum who pulled the gun just played here with Knocked Loose this past Tuesday.

Well damn, if you were there then of course you know more than I do. I followed the twitter threads closely and all of the people who accused them of doing that shit deleted their accounts. Says it all really.
Knew without a shadow of a doubt that these guys didn't pull guns and beat up women/minors. Still, that whole situation was a shitshow I'd like to forget.

I deleted my account because I had fans of Momentum's trying to doxx me and getting concerningly close. What I had posted was exactly what I had observed, yet was missing context that the bands didn't want to give until well after the fact even though it mostly vindicated them in the end. That being said, Vein did actually get into it with a kid and a woman did try to jump in and it didn't work out for them. One of Momentum's buddies did actually pull a gun. The reasoning for each I won't get too far into, since I really do think the bands should post their side on what happened instead of making corny-ass shirts and turning off comments. Vein also wasn't just smashing mic stands, they were straight-up clowning the sound guy during soundcheck and slamming the hell out of the mics into the stage after they chucked the stand into the crowd.

Just a shitshow all around tbh, really sucked to see it go to shit. We hadn't really had problems like that at shows before, either. The vibe was off the whole night before anything went down, too, so yeah.

True, they should have addressed it at least. Would have been the mature thing to do. Love these guys too much to stay mad at them, but that is certainly disappointing behavior.
Weren't any shenanigans going on when I saw them, they seemed really respectful and put on a hell of a show. Breaking mics and throwing stands sounds like typical hardcore show fare though. Not trying to justify their behavior but yeah could have been so much worse. Sorry you went through that though dude, Momentum seem to be the major dickheads in this whole situation.

If you want to hear Gunguy's band, it's Koyo; he's the vocalist. I'll have to revisit this record at some other point since I think the incident soured my reception of it. I loved Errorzone, and the band honestly sounded GREAT live.

Same. I caught glimpses of it, but I'm still somewhat out of the loop

Also this may sound dumb to ask but why do bands take these recorded messages people send them and use that for material on their music? Does that not count as a big breach of privacy? I know it's not illegal in a lot of areas but it seems shitty to me personally. Although, that could have been a pre-recording or she was told to say that so I don't know, excuse my ridiculous rambling.

I can understand why you say that Fear. I'd be a bit confused if that happened to me personally. I'm guessing that the voicemails are relevant to the lyrical matter of the album. If I had to guess, they probably got permission. Can't say for certain though.

I've sometimes wondered that too, but there could be those cases where it's studio magic to make it sound like a voicemail or something when it's really someone speaking into a mic at the studio with a whole bunch of effects
