'Surely the production isn't that bad if it's still a 5 lol. What are you playing/streaming it on?'

My speakers are Swan M200 mkIII's and my headphones are nightowls ran thru and nx4. Audirvana is my desktop player and poweramp on the phone.

The album lacks dynamism, it's too squished and I think they could have done better with the guitars having a bit more depth to them.

Guitars sound harsh and thin. Drums sound weak. I don't mind the drums having less low end to give more space to the bass (I thought it worked well on TSATS), but the balance here is off.

This is easily their most enjoyable album since Shogun. I was surprised by how much I liked it

Hmm, not the first sus account I’ve seen, but it’s gotta be one of the most obvious:

Word Groundking. I was really just wondering if you had a physical copy or were just using YouTube/Spotify/etc., but that’s a sweet setup!

Yup, had they switched it with "Amongst the Shadows & the Stones" and we'd be talking about a 5/5 album here...

I was listening to Heafy talk on a podcast yesterday about Alex (current drummer)... and he was saying "everybody used to always dawg us for all the drummers we went through... but then said "oooo so that's what you guys were looking for this whole time" when they heard Alex".

Like motherfucker YOU HIRED those "inferior" drummers what the fuck are you talking about. There's been youtube drummers playing your shit better than your actual drummers since the beginning of time... maybe not as good as Alex but they were right fucking in front of you dude. Same thing with A7X when they hired that dude for HTTK, only let him play the bare minimum and have the fanbase shit on him as a result, and then kicked him cause "he wasn't good enough for what they wanted to do"... why the fuck did you hire the kid then?? Yall just come off like assholes saying this shit lol

And then he was saying "yeah for the longest time our fanbase has been so segmented in terms of what everyone likes, finally we've made a consistent string of albums that everyone has latched onto" as if their fanbase hadn't been fucking begging them to go back to this sound for a decade

Artists are usually so ridiculously unaware of their own craft it's hilarious. In Flames for example GENUINELY believes they are better than ever and has been for the last 10 years.

Yeah I fucking hate that "it's not us it's you guys" mentality. Like no, it's not on us that we didn't "get" silence in the snow... it's on you guys for thinking all the kids who grew up on ascendancy and shogun want to hear some slow ass bullshit power metal album from you lol.

At this point I've stopped believing that they're gonna release an album better than Shogun again. It's funny, they finally found their sound on that album just to completely abandon it immediately.

Tbf, that album has some really good things going on. But overall it really flawed, can't deny that
