Annie feels like a grower for sure, but Telepath was a very immediate hit with me instantly. Was not huge on Keel Timing and Bed Head as singles but they work great in the conntext of the album as a whole

This is one of those albums where every song is sort of a 4/5 but together they make a perfect album

That’s a pretty accurate statement Sowing, though a few tracks are 4.5s.

Damn this is growing on me hard after a few more listens. Might end up a 5. Time will tell.

Anyone think the lyrics to close out Angel of Death are detailing infidelity? Not fair for me to speculate of course, just seems like he's talking about breaking off an affair, even if a fictional one. Maybe my interpretation is way off.

This was way more immediate for me than Black Mile, maybe because it comes out hot with Inaudible/ Angel of Death.

After 1 pass, I think inaudible, angel of death, bed head, and internet are stellar. Telepath sounds better in the context of the album and Annie is solid too. Let it storm, dinosaur, obstacle and way back are painfully boring tho. They just passed me by on my bus ride to work and I didn't find anything enjoyable about any of them. Very weak second half. Overall looking like a 3.5 for me, but I gotta play it some more

I've gone into this blind, the first 4 songs so far have been fantastic.

Annie is unbelievable too.

Let It Storm was riveting but mostly because I'm not used to such overt confessions of faith from Mr Hull

Well Gyro slap that 3.5 on it already cause that 2 just hurts me

The second half of this thing just completely falls off in my opinion

yeah I'm going to have to spin this more times obviously because I can tell the lyrics are great and all that, but Black Mile felt much more immediately gripping, and this feels like it runs out of dynamic range halfway through
it feels like I'm constantly waiting for the big climactic moment and it never arrives, everything just peters out

The second half has my two least favorite songs but it also has Dinosaur and Obstacle, which are major bangers. Oh and Telepath, which melts my heart and soul. Oh, and The Internet, which rules. Yeah the second half is strong.

Yeah second listen and honestly the second half is glaringly weaker than the first. And telepath has good lyrics but it isn't a very interesting song imo. The internet is an absolute gem of a track tho, just a shame there's so much blandness leading up to it
