I just don't think the electronic pop songs sound much like the soft country songs or the pianoy indie folk songs at all personally

I definitely only listened to this once, and there's good things about almost every song, but idk yeah definitely mushed together after a while for reasons more ineffable/chord-and-melody-based than I could really explain rn. opener is the best. like the beginning of "happiness" too

felt the same way about folklore. much preferred reputation and lover

for real, most of this is coming so straight from the same toolkit a handful of tracks barely registered as different to me (beyond that obvs wow factor of occasionally hearing an instrument that isn't piano or guitar, ig you've gotta take that where it comes Row)

No Body No Crime is hilariously bad, the rest of this is whatever with occasional bright spots

As a Rep defender, this makes me happy. But Lover better than this and Folklore? Mmm, I'm not with that take.

I actually prefer this one to Folklore honestly... more risks and experimentation, and so much of it pays off

I like it a bit more but both are spectacular. I would say Cardigan is still the best song she released this year.

I think this is a bit better than folklore, but the ending progression of "invisible string" is my fav tidbit from either alb
