some random in like a video or music forum i can't remember
the production holds this back for me but it's great stuff
|
| |
from what i recall of their first three albums this band is legit interesting
|
| |
i certainly dont think they appeal to the same demographic as alcest or deafheaven
on the other hand i do know that a lot of bm fans have very dumb opinions on music that isnt metal enough for them (and even on the music that is) so yea

I agree, definitely isn't in the same ballpark as those two. This isn't warm and fuzzy like deafheaven, but not really cold and distant like most other bm. I think its somewhere in between and points in a different direction entirely. People that like prog and psych will prob dig this a lot actually.

yeah, band is pretty psych influenced iirc
been years since ive heard any of their stuff

This is growing hard on me. Uusi teknokratia is a delightfully weird piece of music.

One of the best songs I've heard in recent years.

I think this is their most difficult album to tag genres to. There's definitely some forms of metal and psychedelia, but it's a unique wee amalgam

It has 6 different genre tags on RYM: Avant-garde metal, psychedelic rock, black metal, space rock, atmoblack and post-metal. And yet somehow the list still feels incomplete lol

The first 5 minutes of the opener sounds like somebody has woken up a grumpy, old goblin from his cave slumber with a toy synthesiser and he's pretty pissed about it.
This is going to be an odd listen.

The album takes you on a dystopian interstellar journey.

For new comers to this band, what album experience people recommended for a first listening session ?

@FR33L0RD This is a good entry point imo, their past material is even more abrasive while on this one they introduce a few interesting influences.
