tbh is crazy to see 6'4'' ogre-human hybrids drunk on motor oil and 21 yo with KKB pins wearing the same Slayer T-shirts.

i don't know if this reference will ever make sense to anyone but the overproduced pop attempt at making those raw tinny guitar tones of nu-metal past always reminds me of the little garage-band-esque mini-game they had in either that MyCoke or Habbo Hotel game (I forget which). you could make these shitty songs by putting together these awful premade and vaguely genre sorted instrument loops. they had like a alt/metal guitar loop section and they all made every song anyone made in it sound like stfu/that poppy alb/we appreciate power and it was just so ridiculous and cheesy. you know how with certain genres you have weird age associations that aren't necessarily actually reflective of the genre? for instance i associate metal with being 14-16 because that just happened to be the peak years of my own personal interest in it... i associate nu-pop with being in like grade 5 and playing neopets.

For someone who doesn't usually meddle with pop this seems like a very fun record. I really like her singing.

"Also i can't get over the idea that there's not a real appretiation of the sound or the aesthetics of (ugh) nu-metal, but rather a shallow interest in le epic meme song haha remember the early 2000's and that shitty fucking music? lol epic fail, dude."

but it's not, a lot of people genuinely like nu metal now

Yeah this is a classic patrician "I don't normally like pop, but..." album
