Exactly what Skudboi said although "Screaming" is a banging track and don't mind the cleans there, even if they sound kind of apathetic.

Good point. Also dug All Hail and that album sucks and its riffless.

This was a pretty entertaining listen though I can see the criticisms. It reminds me of the band Exotic Animal Petting Zoo in the way they combine shoegaze and metal. I also definitely see Norma Jean and a lot of Deftones in there but i'm fine with that. I can only see this band getting better at implementing these styles together with future releases.

Honestly, and surprisingly, this didn't get old on further listens. Au contraire...

I agree they need to cement their ID on next releases though.

I completely get how anyone can see this as inconsistent

but part of me in the day and age of playlists and streaming platforms, as I put my music on shuffle for the gym and other moments, it doesn’t bother me. kinda reminds me how inconsistent people thought Saturday Night Wrist was at first for some.

Saturday Night Wrist rules and is better than most Deftones, including KNY.

If you think otherwise, you're just wrong, son

Besides White Pony, Saturday Night Wrists is the album I revisit the most out of their discog. In regards to Loathe the inconsistencies are one of the reasons why I find this album entertaining and fun to listen to. It has a good amount of variety but there are moments like 3 minutes into 'Screaming' where it goes from that heavy ass breakdown into the chorus again that I kinda scratch my head a little.

I still vouch White Pony is their best mainly because "Pink Cellphone" is a throwaway track, but SNW is my second favorite in the Deftones catalog. I actually revisited SNW recently because this album made me want to listen to it.
