I guess it feels like they took more of a kitchen sink approach to songwriting. In this album there's some apparent compulsion to add clean choruses to half the songs, whereas in Meta, the clean vocals were only used where they were most fitting, and often not even for a chorus section.

really like the (kinda?) electronic and melodic qualities on here. Not sure if i like more than Meta. Standouts are Fade Out, Scattered Sprites, and Xoxoy.

From memory I found the production punchier on Meta and it seemed a lot more unhinged, which is what I want in this kinda music
