Seeing Conjurer next month in a tiny venue will be exhausting

Even if artists dont want to change and make that leap they get left behind with the rate of development in music technology. So the artist may stagnate but the genres dont - yet. I'm sure there will be a ceiling to this and some new tech/genre will arise

Conjurer is pretty cool live, though the guitarist had tech problems for most of it sadly.

Yeah exactly we can only do new things when we have new tech and new sounds available

There's plenty of unexplored space within the existing technological space no?

It probably doesnt help genres like this that they tend to get ridiculed if they try to incorporate too much electronic influence into their sound - doesnt exactly spark innovation

Flug, some things are objective and some things are not. To say there is no role for objective discussion of technique, composition, structure, historical context, certain production metrics, etc is shortsighted, though obviously there is a lot of subjectivity and preference that brings evaluation of art the rest of the way.

I actually think it would be cool af if Cult of Luna did some kind of electronic collab

There's a rawness to genres like this that brings a grounding, bodily feeling. That starts to fade away the more it adopts technology. It's in a tricky place.
