There's also a thing called "relevance" I try to take in count to 5 something...this UNFORTUNATELY has none...and FORTUNATELY is not thanks to us here.

Why even give a shit about relevance?

Yeah I don’t consider relevance, but I am overly picky. I could do with a few more 5s tbh. ‘Working on it’.

Relevance in what manner, out of curiosity?

"Why even give a shit about relevance?" I said "I try to take in count" when evaluating if I five it...then there is the broad worldwide influential relevance, the self relevance and the local relevance, some relevance only time will tell...that's part of what makes a classic imo

Fear Inoculum has no musical relevance.

I understand what you're getting at in terms of relevance to self, but considering local and worldwide relevance will preclude you from 5-ing most projects. No matter how talented, some artists/bands are not even drops in the water; they come and go without praise or leaving an influence on their scene.

"Fear Inoculum has no musical relevance."

WAAAT? that's pretty much the only thing you can't say about it...lolol

@Mars: yeah that’s the issue, restricting yourself to impactful ‘relevant’ works arguably goes against the virtues of subjectivity. No matter the quality, most releases just aren’t going to have any significant impact on music.

"without praise or leaving an influence on their scene."

that's also true Mars, it can be a 4.5 factor or not, it depends on feeling, or as I did, putting side to side to other faves from the scene

...by local I tried to focus on the scene at your town, or on how you and your friends live something.

But that's just what I try to do nowadays, not imposing it to anyone (don't quite get why this DeadBitch always comes alive to attack me)...and fuck I have a five on Pulling Teeth lol

I’m ‘reinstating’ this as my 2019 AOTY because let’s face it A Dawn to Fear isn’t comparable to music made by mortals.

That is true, it can't be the best of 2019 with the existence of No Rising Sun.

Fernando is currently recording an album with his new side project, which apparently leans more on the post rock and screamo side of things, hopefully it will drop this year
