his screaming would be better if he did anything other than the same shrill thing over and over again

I'd say that this album has a very decent amount of cleans, specially considering the last 2. But ye, his screams are more monotone here than before, good but still he could go a little harder more often

his cleans half the time just sound like he’s slightly pitching his screams here

Sam's vocals were at their best on Ruin and Hollow Crown.

I see where you're coming from Confessed but for me it is LF//LT where Sam's vocals shine the most.... Take The Distant Blue f.e. where you get some awesome drawn out screams as well as the high-pitched ones we get a lot of in this album and then some cleans

And the cleans at the end of TDB "caught in a web". That's their best album imo. It's fun, there are simply great songs, it's cohesive yet kind of diverse, sams best vocals etc. This band doesn't seem to be very versatile at all, but that album is as close to perfect as it gets imo

Wish he'd use his lows more. Also, I totally forgot this even came out until I saw it bumped

Me too. This didn't do much for me, I'm thinking about lowering my score actually

I see no silver linings
When the days are so dark
So hold a flame to these words
Enough pressure will create a diamond
These lyrics hit me so good. Sometimes this band can be brilliant on that end.. sometimes.

Listen to Lost Forever // Lost Together and then maybe All Our God Have Abandoned Us. They all have a very very similar style, but LF//LT is the best out of these imo.
This style is pretty stale now though. Daybreaker would be the next if you want it a little softer and more Post Hardcore like. Hollow Crown for their heavier style.

If you are new to Architects and love this album and want more of the same I'd say just start going through their discography in reverse order.
As someone who personally enjoys this version of Architects the most, All Our Gods > (barely) Lost Forever > Holy Hell.
Daybreaker is kind of the same thing but the production is so awful on that album I just can't listen to it or recommend it.
Also I just can't understand anyone saying Sam's vocals are bad. Truly boggles my mind to the point of are we listening to the same band?

Man fuck all that have him jump into the deep end and tell him to jam their first 3 albums.
|
| |
imo the lead guitar work and songwriting is more melodic and varied on daybreaker than the next few records
that said, the next few records are good, and sams vocals get better, but he's kind of a one trick pony

x10 songs per album
