This album really proves tat Emery are one of my favorite band's, only a band I love so much could make an album that I really like that still frustrates me to no end. Safe is probably the best song they've ever written.

I think what bothers me is that this has some of their best material, but it’s just way too long and has too much filler. Probably my least favorite aside from IOAM, but it’s still definitely an overall really good album. Curious as to what the new EP is gonna be like

This is their least fillery album that isnt shallow seas imoimo

Really? Cause Young Boys Dream, People Always Ask, Flesh, Bones, and Clarksville are all songs that I thought were okay but just seemed like filler. Jesus Wept is also just not a good song imo

the band's going ham, apparently they're going to release an EP every month to members of their new subscriber club, then an LP every year on May 7th from here on out
and you can subscribe through twitch lol

Yeah, that won’t lead to burnout or anything. Wishing them the best but this has bad idea written all over it

I mean, the LPs are going to just be collections of the EPs...we'll see how this works

This is an interesting experiment but I'm skeptical. I can't help but think that some proper decompression time between albums is key to being creatively rejuvenated. I guess I think that being hermits that retreat into a cave every few years to write is more likely to produce good art than quickly churning things out while being constantly public and connected. But we'll see.

I feel that. Part of the pitch for the project was Emery saying "no shaking off rust," so maybe they're up to the challenge and time off isn't as good for them? But they're already crazy busy with the whole BadChristian brand / podcast network, so...maybe this is just an experiment
