One thing that I did not like about this album is releasing the closing song as the lead single. I guess that's why there's a part two next year.

The only song I listened to prior to the album's release was Devonian and by the time the album came out, I weirdly didn't recognize the song within the context of the album, also I didn't even know Permian was a single tbh, I see that as a good thing lol

ye they released the cornerstones (Permian, Devonian, Cambrian II) beforehand and i jammed them a lot before release
didnt bother me at all, they work just so well within the confines of the record.

Though it is a bit weird how they released basically half the album as singles.

Harsh seems airy and not full to me compared to how they sounded on precambrian and fluxion- maybe it’s how they’re produced? Cleans are the most bearable they’ve been since Precambrian probably. Step in the right direction for me but not quite all in back on board yet.
Also lmao at me having this at a 3.5 and being called a troll, calm your fanboy jets dudes, I still really like this

Just seen them live, they did Orosirian with the rosetta singer
Setlist was good, although no Devonian they play most of this live and it sounds great, although old tunes are what made the audience rock
loic is top tier live btw

Saw them a few days ago, Orosian with 2 vocalists was insanity.
I wish they played Devonian imstead of The Quiet Observer, but that might‘ve been a bit overkill, considering they already played 4 tracks of this.

I'm glad they released Permian first. the first time I listened all the way through, I knew the lyrics to that song and it was a cool experience connecting it back to a piece I was already familiar with.

@thedoom Bands submit a lot of singles before album releases in this day and age to get as many songs on the big metal-lists on Spotify and other streaming services. It get's the bands a lot of attention from crowds that don't normally follow the band, just because they jam the ' new metal releases ' lists.

I feel like the singles are actually the strongest parts of the album, which isn't really a bad thing considering they take up most of its length lol. The end of permian is such a fucking tease like I expected that to lead directly into something else. Maybe it does, but not until we have another album.
Eternal Reoccurence might be one of the best songs they've written tho. And I love the very deliberately lynchian video.
