Yeah, there's for sure a nu metal/Slipknot/Korn influence on this too. Those verse riffs in Virus://Vibrance are straight 2003 nu metal worship.

Also, tell me what 90's metalcore is terrible, seriously. Cave In, early Converge, Coalesce, Botch, Dillinger, Deadguy, Kiss It Goodbye, Starkweather, Integrity, Coalesce, Rorschach, Shai Halud, Disembodied, The Swarm. All those bands are great! I'm not too big on Earth Crisis or Hatebreed, but even those guys are far from terrible. So, I don't really get it.

"Gotta czech Rorschach, Disembodied, and The Swarm" All great goddamn content. Idk if you ever heard of the legendary (imo) Canadian crust/sludge/metalcore band Cursed, but the vocalist from that band was in The Swarm first. The have exemplary songs; Upside Your Head is a stand out for me.
Disembodied are sick. They're one of the few ultra-tough bands with that high breakdown count that I can fuck with. I feel like Code Orange copied them more than a lot of people realize.
And Rorschach is a fave, the influenced a lot of what metallic hardcore a la Converge would be. Remain Sedate and Protestant are both extremely good, extremely brutal records.
