Haste the Day overall is like B-tier metalcore with some A-tier moments

It definitely does. Nothing truly revolutionary or anything, but it's pretty damn fun regardless.

American Love is one of the most A-tier moments ever

update: Coward is great but Wolf King is better

Disagree completely. Wolf King felt far more bland and unmemorable. Not a bad record at all, but nowhere near Coward's level.

That's what you all said about BMTH last album then at the end of the year it's in the top 10 or 5 lmao

Nah dude, song of the year is Aftermath by Rolo Tomassi. That song alone is leagues better than anything on this album.

Eh, That's The Spirit was a fun album. Not a top album by any means, but a fun one.
I'll give Wolf King another listen, but I doubt I'll change my opinion.

This is so much better than That's The Spirit, and honestly I don't see the comparison.

The comparison DreamAgain made was about this probably being an album that was considered mediocre on launch before making a fair number of top ten lists at the end of the year. I don't remember people changing their opinions on TTS, but maybe that's just me.
As for musical comparisons between the two records, you could easily consider both of these records as radio rock oriented. Both are alright records though.

Except TTS had absolutely nothing going on and was safe and boring. I think this is gonna be a grower for people (but I already love it so whatever haha).

the motives behind them came across very differently to me
like thats the spirit was clearly a record designed to make them the biggest band in the world, effectively serving as a “sell out record” while this is just underoath trying to make an album they can all agree on to get their wheels spinning again, even if it ended up being a disappointing one in comparison to like lost in the sound of separation and shit
