BMTH and AA are both significantly more popular than the bands were discussing and therefore, this cannot be considered a hot-take.
I believe the % of people think the above quote and / or parody is true are considerably lower tho, idk just call it a hunch.

My hot take is that this is fifth best Dillinger, and that is taking into account that they have 2 albums that I generally dislike. But their top 5 releases are almost all tied, so idk.

Hes literally a budget mike patton

Early on I definitely think that’s true but he really came into his own imo

Greg has made way better music than Mike Patton, mostly bc Dillinger is vastly better than any band Mike Patton has been in but still.
|

This is also my least favorite dillinger album, even tho it's absolutely a classic. I just appreciate how they learned to meld the insanity with catchiness and song structure later on.

Ok I def like Dillinger more than any Mike Patton project but Mr. Bungle has multiple classics and some would argue that Irony is a Dead Scene has some of their best songs… I mean Pig Latin might literally be my favorite Dillinger track ever

once again comes down to taste but if we're talking strictly mike vs greg : mikes got a much wider range and like 30 years of songwriting creds ontop of vox/lyrics. i ammm bummed that ben weinmans just kinda playing side man ever since dissociation though, the calculating tours are cool buuuut he's underrated as far as songcraft goes and i want more of that

Dillingers best release had Mike fking Patton in it ffs
The talk was as a vocalist anyway even though Bungle/FNM/Fantomas/His zorn shit > DEP
Anyone who thinks Gregs cleans are in the same stratosphere as Pattons needs to go to their local vietnamese ear cleaners. You can prefer his more aggro style, Those whiney middle ground vox tho...jesus. GTF. Patton a far more varied and all round better vocalist.
If you prefer DEP to whatever is taste of course. Their wouldn't even BE a DEP without a FNM/Bungle that doesnt make them better ofcourse
They just are.

I think Greg would probably disagree with you if you told him that he is a better vocalist than Patton.

And yeah, Patton is for sure the more talented vocalist.

Patton is definitely a better vocalist than Greg, but Greg is still an incredible vocalist in his own right and suited Dillinger perfectly.

yeah like I said hes also a superb front man, My friends band supported them on the MM tour so I got to hang with them all for a few days, were nice dude and tremendous live (which is no secret) it took me a while to even appreciate MM because of the vox and they just Irk me too much now to listen to DEP but PLENTY of ppl including friends of mines think hes great
