"Aftermath and A Flood of Light are a bit cheesy tbh"

those are the 2 best songs here imo

"Listening to the first two songs I was about to call bullshit on the Dillinger Escape Plan reference."

apparently DEP is a big influence on these guys

Yeah it's interesting. Definitely will have to give it a few more spins to really dig into it.

The first 2 songs are a poor indicator for the rest of the album tbh.

Ending of Hollow Hour is so good, wow.

They are, but I really love them in a calm before kinda way. The way aftermath flows into Rituals is just amazing

19 pages deep, oof wil probably get buried but I noticed one thing:

"an uncommon feat most bands drawing heavy influence from hardcore and math rock." think a word is missing here

Good review. This album is gonna take a few listens.

Enjoying this more with every spin.

Contretemps is such a beaut. I love how every track on this complements the others, it's an amazingly cohesive listen.

I wish more of the softer parts on this felt like Aftermath. They kinda just feel like they are there to contrast the chaos and never feel as full fledged as they did on Aftermath buuut they still sound really great and this album still rules. I'll hopefully keep it in my rotation for the next few months and have a definitive opinion on it.

Still growing on me. Doing my best to keep myself from screaming/singing out the vocals in my mind when getting my coffee at the office.

This is excellent! It’s been a great start to 2018 with this, Don Broco, Ducking Punches, The Dangerous Summer etc. Moose Blood up next..

that piano when it starts in The Hollow Hour and goes along the rest of the track even in the heavier parts always beats me down! thinking about bumping this rate up.
