"Sounds like victims of deception is the album for you"
It is.

I haven't rated it yet. But that's probably what I'm going to give it tbh.

The main thing that bothered me about Justice was always the production.

Victims would be an easy 5 if Heathen was capable of editing themselves. There's absolutely no reason for some of those tracks to be as long as they are.
(This criticism also applies to AJFA but song length is like the fourth or fifth thing wrong there.)

Victims is pretty overrated but it's still good.

There's just something about RTL and AJFA that pushes both of them up above this one for me.

Bad musicianship?

Both albums have that extra "oomph", songs like "Dyers Eve", "The Frayed Ends of Sanity", "Fade to Black", and even "One" are so damn good. Emotionally significant in a way this album just doesn't do to the same degree.

Opposite for me agent. I love RTL and AJFA but this one is special. Say what you want about Lars but his drumming on here is the difference. Incredible. Also, this album showcases Metallica’s greatest song ever written: the mighty Welcome Home Sanitarium.

Lars' drumming on their 80's works is actually pretty spot-on if not spectacular. He gets the job done without sounding lazy.

He pounds the shit of the drums here - powerful.

He definitely can and has before, but he doesn't really have 'technique' at least these days.
