I dunno, I just didn't find Thorns very appealing. I listened to it straight through a couple times and never went back to it.
Yeah, it probably is mostly the lyrics from the early stuff that turns me away from it. I think the vocals in general turned out better on SS, too.

partially thanks to the fact that the closer has overtaken coward as my fav senses fail song, tho the fire still stands tall as my top from them. also this is becoming my summer album due to its absurd catchiness plus the lyrics while very blunt when they resonate they reeeally resonate

definitely rewarding on multiple listens, my knee jerk reaction was more like a 3-3.5, but I think low-4 is pretty accurate. with that being said, I haven't touched this album at all in a few months since the initial binge lol
