I do agree that the album is very short and bastille day should've had vocals. That track sucked.

So they intentionally chose this style of production? Because it sounds low budget to me. What interview was this from?

Two specifically,

https://www.npr.org/sections/allsongs/2017/12/01/567256661/glassjaw-guides-us-through-the-apocalyptic-material-control

"The last thing [major labels] want to hear is the very Cro-Magnon sort of s***, with the bass just super-ultra distorted. It's almost as loud as the vocals. Those were the things that kind of got me and Justin turned onto this avant-garde, New York hardcore thing.

[Material Control] is a win because the record finally sounds like the band we heard in our heads, which is not that far from some bands that we enjoyed when we were younger."

This sounded much better on a 2nd listen just because I went in thinking "okay it's heavy and barely sounds like Worship and Tribute". this sounds pretty great and kinda reminded me of new Converge kinda? the sound is just so engrossing

for being as hyped up as I was for this for the past few years, i feel a smidge disappointed but that could change. Coloring Book and shira took me a few listens to fully appreciate and now I love em. New White Extremity is way better than I remember it being when it came out too (even though I initially liked it).

It's likely that the band has more material and might release it within the next two years instead of like 15. the reason I say they probably have more is they must have written more than what's on this album within that huge length of time.

I think Eons is right since they are now a full stable band they should at least have an EP released by early 2020. I do love the new bass player and drummer. They're from the band glass cloud.

I also believe the 4th album will sound soooo much better since they have the glass cloud bass player and drummer with them. They should be all forming up great song writing as well.

production definitely muddles this a bit, but it's also why certain songs sound as raw as they do...not sure how I feel about it yet
