I barely rate anything I listen to. I've heard Hybrid Theory and Meteora like 50 times apiece and don't have them rated either.

What's your basis for determining whether or not to rate something then? It can't just be arbitrary.

It pretty much is to be honest. For example I listened to Chelsea Wolfe's newest a handful of times and don't have a rating assigned, listened to Cairo Knife Fight about three times through and rated it.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.
I'd say I've rated about 5% of the music I've heard.

Damn, well that certainly seems like a fun way to live.

"Gonna check Chelsea, looks interesting."
It's pretty good.
"is this a good start for this band?"
Nope. Check Shogun instead.

Check Shogun and Ascendancy first and if you like them, give this a spin. Can't guarantee you'll dig it but hey, you definitely might.

Bruh I think most people who like this band agree that Shogun and Ascendancy are their top two. I've had Shogun 5'd for years and loved it well before I joined this site. Heard it about a year after it came out in my first year of high school lol

Damn, guess I was hanging out with the wrong crowd. I got shit for liking a Trivium album when that came out and I was that doofus who was always like "GUYS C'MON JUST GIVE IT A CHANCE"

Yeah you must've been. Then again, there are always those dummies who can't appreciate/tolerate even the slightest shift in style, so that's probably why you had to deal with all that negativity.
Unless you're just referring to non-Trivium fans, then of course they'd give you a hard time over anything related to this band.

Ahah most of my friends aren't Trivium fans so yeah it's that

"It's weird that people who always disliked this band supposedly still sat through this knowing they'd hate it just because they dislike the consensus here."
well not really when so many of you are trying to tell us it's a 4.5

This album is good. The wretchedness inside and endless nights are the skip tracks.
thrown into the fire could easily belong on the living infinite by soilwork, and Sever the hand had some moments that reminded me of mechanize from fear factory.
Huge overreaction on both sides in the comments. If you're expecting to hear battlecross cause Alex is the drummer, that's your own fault. 3.5, solid
