I was pretty sure I would hate Loyalty because of the Rihanna feature but it did kinda surprise me, Love and God are both pretty underwhelming to me though

I didn't think my comment about rating an album too soon would spark such an interesting discussion about the differences between music and film. Interesting read.
Personally, I tend to digest albums over a long period of time before forming a more solid opinion. Sure, I definitely listened to this once and had an opinion on it. It wasn't a positive one. I thought it was boring. I loved GKMC and TPAB, but the instrumentation here didn't thrill me on first listen. But I'm the type who can come back to album over repeated listens and change my opinion drastically. That's why I choose not to throw out a rating right away even if I can change it later on. That, and I'm too damn lazy to change my rating again.

"Music affects me so much stronger than movies prob cause it gives you the latitude to interpret it however you want and attach your own emotions/memories/associations with it. Music/Audio is a much more personal medium imo"

Idk if I can make a track ranking yet but I seriously can't figure out what my least favorite track is (Blood doesn't count since that's an intro). May or may not be his most consistent album.

this is deeply boring. kendrick is obviously still a talented rapper but jesus christ the beats on this are as lazy as it gets.
also what's up with the mastering? shit sounds like it's mixed for a nokia phone speaker in 2003

to be honest the only track i don't like is humble i like the message but sonically it reminds of the radio friendly sound GKMC had really puts me off.production as far as beats are a highlight of this album!
