Hard to imagine a first listen of this coming off VDC when released.. Obviously ST notoriety took off later.. I was thrown for a loop.. but soon understand they mastered another style.
Approaching the new one with full context is hardly as jarring..

I watched a lot of interviews before the new one dropped and they described it exactly how it sounds so I wasn’t surprised, but I am surprised at how well executed it all is and how many different interesting ideas they were able to pack into one album. Really curious what the next one will sound like though. I think they’re gonna do something different for sure

Did they say anything about a follow-up? That'd be amazing. I wasn't counting on anything since it took 12 years for Tiny House to happen. Maybe if they feel enough love from it, they'll stay together and keep making more music for us, if there's any hope in this world.

yeah they were asked if they want to do more after this and they both pretty enthusiastically said yes

soon I have one more stack of homework to mark and might have to make a cheat sheet for the diff between adjs that you can use for people and for things ugh
review is half finished between two google docs tbh, shouldn't take too long with a crunch

go ahead and use the nice adjs, I just talked shit to some 14 year old kid named Kyle over a zoom call, his room was the deepest shade of red RGB lights can produce and he was kind of a dick. those kids you're marking are probably nowhere near as bad. but also prioritize the review over them

NO what bedroom Satanist is this I am appalled. did he get LEARNED for his sins??
most of this bunch are pretty good, but some of them have me in stiches
I played rhythmic gymnastics. I was tragic on Monday. I want sweet food. is the most heartbreaking 3-step story i have ever laid eyes on

I asked him what game he's playing. He said "Rocket League why? You tryna play?" I said "nah I've never played that." He said he would probably dust me in it. I said play me in Smash Bros. He said "I'll smash your bro." Other kid in background goes "so you're saying you're gay?" he said "so what if I am?" this is the story of Kyle bet you're glad you read that
that kid's story is probably better though. is rhythm gymnastics like DDR

1.5 was prob a bit harsh. I need to revisit this, someone told me I'm wrong for saying Female Lover is a standout track and better than Milk.
Your World Is Eternally Complete is possibly a top 10 st song though.

People seem to kinda hate on Female Lover, but I think it's great. A more succinct and streamlined version of VDC with plenty of progression. It lacks the emotional baggage that the rest of this album has (although, many would probably dislike it for that very reason) and is a purely fun and maybe even technical showcase.

basically every track on this album is perfect.. pick a standout, any standout, and you are correct

i think Female Lover is great. feels like a breath of fresh air from the great but admittedly pretty long-winded runtime of airy vocals, esp on the remaster

Well said Atari, tho I’d have to go with Your World is Eternally Complete. Top 3 Sweet Trip right there.
