Pretty sure this has already been said in this thread, but if he were to return to For Emma's style, this album would've just been redundant and pale in comparison to his debut. For Emma is definitely an album that was created in a specific environment emotionally for Vernon; an environment that would be nearly impossible to replicate.
I'm not too crazy about this record, though better than the self-titled snooze-fest, but I appreciate that they took a new direction for the third time in a row.
