Finally gave this a shot. I'm usually a pretty big Periphery fan so I expected to really like this and was mostly let down. Definitely feels like their weakest to date and even though Alpha/Omega took a lot of time to grow on me, this has some flat out awful parts.



The last half from Absolomb through Lune is by far the best parts of the record. I'll include Marigold in there too.



But holy shit, I cannot look past the lyrics on The Price Is Wrong and Motormouth and I really wanted to like Motormouth too. The Way The News Goes... is probably my least favorite track they've ever done and I was counting down until it was finished. Everything else was mostly meh to me but again, this is only my first listen.

I legitimately tried to listen to this, but the sound is so repetitive and disjointed. Too unlistenable for me

@shoegaze I have literally never heard someone say that about Periphery. Say what you will about other aspects, but Periphery is legitimately one of the least repetitive bands in metal right now.
