Finally sat down with this. I love The Seer and To Be Kind but clearly they were running out of ideas with this. Sounds and feels like the well running dry. I can't get around that every time I put this on. Glad they disbanded this lineup / "era." New track is kind of cool!

To Be Kind was disappointing and The Glowing Man was terrible. Not sure if I should be excited for this considering The Seer is the only album I really love from these guys.

I cannot understand to love the seer and hating to be kind and the glowing man.

The new single in more interesting than the first one.

Pretty much been discussed to death over in The Seer thread, so I won't rehash my own opinions on that. Anyway, I'm excited to check the new single. Didn't listen to the last one and might just listen to this straight away.

Just listened to it as well. It's... a Swans song, definitely. The Glowing Man sound but less hypnotic and more anxious?

Gunna have to agree with sowing although to be kind is definitely a good album, but a massive drop off from the seer. Reminds me of Floyd’s or mars volta’s later material where they essentially do nothing interesting and just wank on for 15+ minutes per song with boring ass riffs. Best swans tho is all in the 90s

To Be Kind, Soundtracks, Children of God... I'm blown away by something in each decade they were active. Very confused how a they're consistently at this level of excellence.

To Be Kind is better than the Seer lmao

Glowing Man is probably as good

But yeah, Children of God and Soundtracks for the Blind are easily their two greatest masterpieces.

An album with screenshot, bring the sun, oxygen or nathalie neal can't be a massive drop from the seer. Only bring the sun makes To be kind massive.

And i find the glowing man excellent, superb.

Singles are good, first reminds me of 90s swans and the hanging man is in line with the last 3 (4) albums .

Glad to see that pika can also listen to good music :P :P

Gira's sound has been running thin for me for some time now, but the new one is a good break from the monotony of this one. Well not as dry as I previously thought, albeit still low.
