As much as I like everything on here, it's just not on par with TPAB imo.

part of why this is great is that it feels so carefree. i really dont think it needs much of any additional production/effort. and in my opinion the off the cuff, jazzy feel is mostly what makes this better than TPAB. hope he goes even harder on the jazzfeels on the next ish.

any more care or "realisation" put into these tracks and they would lose their free form charm, totally agree with johnny

kendrick's best verse to date is the end of untitled 02

Yeah, I don't agree with this being better than TPAB at all. I don't see how one compare an album of b-sides to a completed work such as TPAB. This album doesn't have the breath that TPAB has. TPAB has everything planned flawlessly from the bars, instrumentation, cohesion, longevity, and timelessness. Untitled unmastered simply doesn't have that in my opinion.

TPAB has more than a few songs that don't resonate with me, and it's too long & bloated for me to ever wanna jam it in one session

whereas this has many of my favorite kendrick songs, it has no filler, and i'm always down to jam it in full. Another plus is the fact i actually enjoy the more raw production here, and despite it being b-sides it overall still feels really cohesive.

It's my favorite kendrick, but i can still see why people might prefer his albums

@GmemberKills I understand what you mean. I'm used to listening to long albums, so the length is fine for me. I go through UU like it's water. Haha.

'I don't see how one compare an album of b-sides to a completed work such as TPAB.'

You really can't, I'm just saying if this got the attention that Kendrick gave TPAB I feel like this had the potential to not only be better than TPAB, but to be more inline with some of his previous work. Not to beat a dead horse or anything. I had just finally listened to this and even though I'd seen user's give it high praise, I wasn't expecting this to be so good.

Not saying this is better than Butterfly, but this is somehow more consistent and cohesive that its parent album
