Before I listened to enough music to really distinguish talent (or even ego in the case of Maynard) I had heard some of these tracks before.
A few years later and it's surprising, because this is such a good album and I could have been listening to this... hindsight is an annoyance.

My exact reaction to this album and Tool's work in general Acanthus. I wrote them off around the release of Lateralus as just another radio-rock band, being young and stupid. Wasn't until years later I realized just how intelligent and incredible their body of work was. I felt very sad knowing I could have been riding the Tool train a decade ago.
