I find the new song to be pretty average, I realise it's not technically "complete" but I do hope the actual album has more structural development than it. Sounding more like One isn't a bad thing though

Smile is pretty divisive it seems. Definitely their most straight-forward song to date, though I imagine it'll be like Nocturne in the context of the album, they've said the song isn't even in its final form yet.

Production is also pretty muddy which is bizarre for Tesseract's usually squeaky clean sound.

About the production/mix - it's definitely baffling as to why it wasn't any cleaner. I've seen many criticize this aspect of Smile in particular, I'm kind of hoping it's that and not the structure which makes it seem weak

One is good in that it has Concealing Fate but the rest is decent.

Altered State had great atmosphere and the first four tracks are gold but falls off into the chugs

I felt like, while this album might have been easier to access, it also has some of the most concise and well composed songs.
