but seriously this is a great album, its a 2-disc for the price of 1 really, and its super funky and everything i hoped of a RHCP album
except it almost sounds like flea isnt present enough

I liked both discs when they first came out but they've grown on me quite a bit since then. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was not enough presence of Flea. Everything else is top notch.

I accually was not impressed by Stadium Arcadium. I think that the Chili peppers had so much going for them on their old cd's. In my opinion they are too calm on their new material. The rap-like lyrics that anthony used to be famous for are barely even present in chili pepper songs any more, flea is no longer a driving force in the music, and the general feel of the music is more relaxing than anything. I understand that bands change, and that this is the music they make now, but don't praise them for average work just because they used to be better. This Message Edited On 06.01.06

I think Flea is very noticeable, but in much more subtle ways than just ripping fast slap riffs.

I'm not saying that their current music is bad. However, I don't care much for what the've become. This new music might be good, but its not the same music that the chili peppers used to climb to the level of fame they are at now.

Well, that's respectable. I disagree, but at least you didn't flip out like others have. I also agree with Entwistle. Flea is very noticeable, and still slaps quite a bit (the chorus in "Tell Me Baby"). It's just not as Blood Sugar esque, which i don't find a bad thing.

is it just me or does a riff in dani california sound just like the most famous nirvana song ever?
hmmm, any takers....
btw, rhcp suck, my girl doesnt even like em and thats saying something
I think it's somewhat laughable how you could even think Dani california sounds like "smells like teen spirit".

I still don't understand how that can be and how the Chilis won the best modern rock band poll in R&M, and how they can also have a thread which only about 4 people post in. There's something really quite odd about that. I'd also say that the fact that this and 10,000 Days are doing so well on the top albums of 2006 stakes is a reflection of how the year so far has been rather mediocre for new music, but that may just be me.

| |
If that new Mastodon CD is anything like Leviathan, it'll probably snag this year's top spot when it's all said and done.
|
| |
Well their average rating is quite high. I think it's a fanboy problem rather than a no-good-music-in-2006-problem :P
