I don't see how you can dig this but not With Fear... lol

I like all At the Gates though, including Slaughter. This and With Fear... will always be my favorites but they all rule.

This deserves a higher rating than Gardens, seriously.

Yeah it does. Gardens slays but not nearly as hard as this. This should have at least a 4 avg, if not higher. I like Slaughter but not as much as this and I just don't get how it's their only album with an avg that high.

Fuck, I don't even know if I like WFIKTBD better anymore. It's so hard to say because both are flawless but man, Within is so sick and the way it transitions into Windows, as well as the the songs that follow (Claws of Laughter Dead and Neverwhere) -- it's just so perfect. Hell, even The Scar is a sick interlude and Night Comes, Blood Black just rips.

Honestly, Kingdom Gone to the end is just flawless, which is basically the entire album minus the t/t but even that rules. City of Screaming Statues as a bonus is just the icing on the cake, fits perfectly. Yeah, I think I'm going to 5 this again. Just so fucking good.

(Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud as I jam this lol)

My favourite part of the album. In fact it's one of the greatest DM runs of all-time.

P.S. I'm also one of those strange people that couldn't get into Fear.

I had the same case for a long time and then all of a sudden I realized it's fucking ridiculous, just as this. I think I just had to get used to the really really flawed production.

"In fact it's one of the greatest DM runs of all-time." Easily.

I think my initial post about not understanding how you can like one without the other was directed at you haha

The production definitely sucks, but you should check the Peaceville remastered version. They did this too, although I never had a problem with the production here. But I'd try With Fear and see if it doesn't change your mind a bit. Still not perfect but way better imo.
