Bottom line: this album is so much better than people give it credit for. The majority voice seems to be saying: if I don't get the drone tracks, this is only half-good.

The drones really give the album substance in a way. True they are the weakest parts of the album but if it was just Peasantry and Piss Crowns it would feel really empty. The drones make it feel more complete.



Not to mention this is rather different than GY!BE's other albums

More than just that though, they give it an eerie vibe. The echoing sonar gives me chills. It's what makes this truly feel post-apocalyptic to me, it resonates worldly sounds in such a way that feels totally bleak and abandoned.
