I mean, the album is good but falls short after some time

Band seriously doesn’t get enough credit for how well they pulled off the Juggernaut albums. Prog bands do these ambitious concept albums all the time and bite off way more than they can chew, not these guys.
Also think just having a concept to run with in general really helped these guys kinda reign in their songwriting... there’s a lot less wanking, the track lengths are way down, all the songs feel more purposeful, and Spencer actually shines here because of it instead of feeling unnecessary/out of place on a lot of their other stuff.

"the track lengths are way down"
*looks at title track of this album, redacts statement*

Looking at the track lengths of the rest of their albums and yeah it’s actually kinda the same surprisingly if you don’t include the Juggernaut interlude tracks. Idk I guess the straightforwardness of these tracks combined with them being split up into two different albums makes it seem that way.
Also forgot to say that there is so so so much more variety on these albums compared to P1 and P2, where the tracks just start bleeding together after a while.

yeah, I love the how Omega just descends into straight evil and darkness. Definitely a fully realized and well-executed project.

Periphery V: Men
The title track never did much for me tbh. It just went by and that's it

Bumped this and Alpha up a bit. This band is better than people give them credit for. I also like their attitude

it's so aesthetically pleasing how this and Alpha have the same number of votes every time I look

The t/t isn’t nearly as impressive in a post-Reptile world

The title track was never that good tbh, it's just long

I hate how drawn out the ending of the title track is, would make sense if it's the last track of the record but it's not...

Still a solid album tho

Yea, I think about bumping it to 3.5 too. The clean guitars in Priestess are a prime example of what my gripe with some stuff here is. The notes go by so fast, they don't form a good melody or anything like that. Like the song from there on though
