Agree. Remains my favorite on the album. Apparently they played this live on their last tour. Didn't expect that.

Sexy album. The Night Reveals is like, top 50 songs ever.

Yeah, this ended up growing on me. I'm wondering what happened.
I first listened to this 3-4 years ago. Right after accidentally seeing them live -- I didn't know who they were at the time, but they were touring TFP and were great.
I downloaded the album and listened, and I couldn't believe how poor the production was. Tinny, hissy, noise-gated out the ass. The mixer was defending himself online and people generally said that the production ruined the album. I agreed, and found it almost un-listenable, and that killed me, because I loved the music.
I immersed myself in Dreamless for ages, and didn't listen to this for a long time.
Coming back to it now on Spotify...did they re-mix it? Or were we being too judgmental at the time? It sounds perfectly fine now. Sure, it could still use some more dynamics, but it sounds great on my headphones. They must have fixed it, or did it always sound like this?
Either way, I'm happy, because I just ordered the vinyl and can't wait. They did some represses and I snagged one in bone white.
Can't stop listening to this now. It's really grabbing my attention again. It may be monotonously relentless, but it's hooking me in just the right ways. I can listen to the whole thing over and over.

Is that once fabled DR10 master the one we're hearing now?!
Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Metal/comments/53h55o/fallujah_to_remaster_the_flesh_prevails/
This has to be what we're listening to a year later on Spotify. And, hopefully, however that's done, making its way onto the represses of the vinyl copies they've made.

I'm pretty sure the Spotify player level matches everything so there aren't any glaring differences in volume when you shuffle between artists, so I wouldn't be surprised if more dynamic masters are provided for the platform.
That said, even the first press LP copies of this sound 1000 times better than the CD. There's absolutely no way they'd just etch a DR2-3 master onto wax. IDK why they don't just put LP masters on CDs if they're after more fidelity because they're all digital these days anyway.

they'll have put the more dynamic master on vinyl, no question. the more dynamic master of this isn't "night and day", honestly, but it does make a difference if only subtle. seriously though, i think the worst thing about this album is the mix, not the master.
