Honestly, may be my favorite.

Album is very inconsistent, but the b-sides are great. What Would I Say to You Now from the deluxe edition, in particular, is pretty awesome.

Underrated. This and Clarity are my fave Jimmy Eat World albums.

Some of this is really great, but some of it is also kinda samey and mundane. Still solid overall. I’ve only listened twice, so maybe the samey tracks will distinguish themselves more with repeat listens.
Fav tracks now are thinking that’s all, Claire, episode IV, digits (mostly for the beginning, middle is kinda eh), and Anderson Mesa.

The back half took a couple of listens to grow on me but for a sophomore attempt to move into a completely new direction for them (following their rough punk debut) they pulled it off incredibly well.

Yeah I’m definitely liking this. My rating is probably premature but I wanted to share/discuss. Definitely gonna keep listening (still listening to Futures as well).
So far —
Clarity > Futures > Static Prevails > Bleed American
Next up is Chase the Light but it’ll be at least a week until I move on to that.

In the Same Room gradually became my favourite song from this. This album's very different to the rest of their discog. Very underrated elsewhere on the internet too. A lot of people simply disregard this album when discussing their discog, as if it's implied that Static couldn't possibly be worth talking about. But not on this website though, I like that this website appreciates this album, because it really is good, despite being largely a different genre than their later output.
@Larkin, based on what you've said so far, I can't imagine you liking Chase This Light. But I'm still curious to see your reactions. At the very least it has Always Be, which is one of the band's best singles for my money.

I gave CTL a cursory listen yesterday and ehh...it’s pretty good. Probably a 3, but could grow to 3.5. The last three tracks on it are awesome.

Fuck, Here It Goes is TERRRRIBLE though. By far their worst song. By FAR.

Yeah, Here it Goes is one of their weaker songs. I wouldn't call it Terrible but it's certainly a 3/5 kinda song. Chase This Light is such a fun summer album though.

Yeah it’s not bad so far. Need to listen a few more times though. The first three and last three tracks are great. The in between songs are spotty, but some of it’s good as well.

Don't forget to check out the Be Sensible b-side. One of their very best songs and one of the band's admitted biggest regrets of their career was leaving it off the album.
(I know I probably repeat myself a lot)

I can agree with that, Lark, though I'd make it the opening 4. "Carry You," is so beautiful. Feeling Lucky and Here it Goes is the album's major low moment. Gotta be Somebodies Blues is a big grower and Electable is too ridiculously catchy to be a low point. Closing 3 and the b-sides are what solidify the 4.5 For me.
