I love Wars too, which I think is severely underrated.
LOC is really crusty ska-punk. Check out the Choking Victim thread for my recollection of that show. Kind of interesting that out of the bazillion shows I've ever been to, two of the best ones have been within the past several months. I doubt anything will ever top LOC though

just read that thing about the guitarist, that's fucking punk haha. I wish my concert recollections were as good as yours but most are bands I don't really like anymore, and the good bands were ruined by shitty sound/venues.

well I've seen a lot of local Australian bands you've probably never heard of
my top 3 would probably be
The Cat Empire (latin/ska/jazz/funk band who are absolutely fucking nuts)
Underoath (love them although they had shitty sound and were supported by A Day to Remember
Opeth (first concert, sentimental value)

man they have like ten members and they had massive improv sections where each member would improv separately, so you'd have like a percussion solo, keyboard solo, trumpet solo etc. and it went for like ten minutes. Amazing stuff.
