Not all bands w/ major labels are considered mainstream
Non-mainstream bands have gotten charted for both albums and songs.

True points, but this particular band happens to be kind of mainstream... Also, I absolutely would compare them to nickelback to an extent. They are both mainstream hard rock. Nickelback just happen to suck balls and Alter Bridge happen to rule.
But the main point is that this band rocks.
