A Wolf at the Door is so cathartic. Punchup at a Wedding is underrated too

Yeah Wolf is amazing. I used to love Punchup but it has grown off me, as has the album as a whole.

I don't know if this has grown off me, but I used to think it was better than Amnesiac but now I'm not so sure....

If you cut this to 8 songs it would be ok:

1) 2+2=5

2) Sit Down

3) Sail

4) Backdrifts

5) Go to Sleep

6) There There

7) Scatterbrain

8) A Wolf

Would add up to a 3.5/5, ok album. The rest drags it down a .5

Choosing Go to Sleep over over Myxamotosis is just so wrong Doof

Myx just sounds terrible to me, in the context of the album and in general :/

Cuttooth is incredible though. Not sure if you can really love both, you'll always have a preference

Hmmm, I'd put I Will in there, underrated tune that. Obviously I'm partial to There, There ;-]

As long as Wolf is in there I'm happy

You could definitely switch Cuttooth for either Go To Sleep or Scatterbrain.

I Will...I quite like the rock version of that one too lol

Choosing Backdrifts over anything else on here is what's so wrong, even if it's not bad. I agree that this would be even better with some trimming. My favorites are 2+2=5, Sit Down, Sail to the Moon, There, There, Scatterbrain, and A Wolf at the Door. I wouldn't cut any whole song from this, everything has some worth on here at the least.

I adore the version of I Will here, the vocal layering is beautiful and it's a hauntingly desolate little tune, perfectly fitting for its lyrics.

I Will is heartbreaking, also any track list that leaves off Paperbag Writer is a bad one

I like Backdrifts - it's the dirge sounding songs that get tiring

Young Blood, Gloaming, Punchup, Where I End...too much

It's around half way through track 6 I feel like I've ingested a massive dose of quaaludes listening to this album. Backdrifts is still kinda upbeat and I'm awake. The damage is done after that one.
