It's funny because if you listen to this album for maybe five minutes you'll realise that these guys don't give a fuck about being black metal.

how many metal bands do black and white covers for the exact same reason? i hardly think the color of the art should be a count against the originality of the album. there is a legitimate argument to be made that deafheaven isn't original, but the color pink is not it.

Both these records also follow the same bright art motifs that act as sort of a "fuck you" to the genre's traditionalism.

yes, i finally listened to this shane and for a first listen I LOVED IT. the drumming on this is absolutely spectacular. the songs are super engaging too despite the length.
