This was the second album I checked out on this site when it came out, did not like it in any way.

There is this review on a different site that really sums up my feeling well on this album. Let me quote, "Perhaps what Twelve Foot Ninja need to realise is that genre mashing is not unique, and that when Ninjaspy do it it is merely a starting point from which they can then explore the limits of what that combination of genres has to offer, just as when Between the Buried and Me interpose different styles of music into their songs it usually serves as a relief from the density of their core themes, and that it is for these reasons that the music of both these bands is consistently more satisfying than that found on Silent Machine."

This is a good album but I really feel like it's style over substance. Just like their follow-up to this.

It's really all personal preference though, isn't it? I find it just as well done as Ninjaspy.

Um..maybe? I guess? There are both objective and subjective parts to everything that's art, if it clicks with you, good for you. It doesn't with me. There are great parts on the album all throughout but I feel like they are not doing anything special with this whole genre-mixing thing and I'm bored a lot of the times.

Finally got around to listening to Ninjaspy today and I gotta say that it's a weird coincidence with TFN and Ninjaspy having similar names and aesthetics. Ninjaspy's genre-mashing powertrio aesthetic is also reminiscent of another one of my favourite bands, 24-7 Spyz. Pretty weird coinkydinks all around.
