i know what you were implying, it just doesnt work.

"because even if you are disappointed with the outcome (as some people are with 'Riitiir', however many times they've heard it), you can at least be grateful for what the band have done-or whatever present you've just opened."

and this right here is why, because it doesnt matter at what rate you open a present, you can be an ingrate or you can appreciate the thought either way, so its not a good analogy for taking the time to appreciate this album.

and i didnt say anything till now because i didnt really think about it until i read it a second time.

It's fucking awesome Brandon. I've been playing this to death the last few days. I don't see how any Enslaved fan could be disappointed.

This.

Ok, fair enough. I always thought that a summary would be the one thing that comes to mind first when commenting on a review though.

I think the title track is one of the weaker songs on the album, but is still deserving of being an enslaved song in my opinion.

I thought the title track was lackluster/bad on first listen but it's grown on me. Storm of Memories is the weakest song in my opinion; some cool parts sloppily held together.

Roots of the Mountain

Death in the Eyes of Dawn

Forsaken

Thoughts Like Hammers

Materal

RIITIIR

Veilburner

Storm of Memories

The quality drops off a bit after Thoughts Like Hammers I think.

I'm with Bodom on Roots of the Mountain and Death in the Eyes of Dawn being the top two.

I treat the album as a whole and it falls on the same level as Vertebrae.
